My husband is an avid fisherman and this time of year I am pretty much a fishing widow! He is in tournaments almost every weekend through most of the summer, it gets to be pretty old as well as expensive. The past few weeks it has already started with entry fees and all sorts of fishing lures that he just can not live without. We went to the Cities a couple weekends ago and Kaiden went shopping with him, only to rat him out once we all met back up (That's my boy!). We got in the car and Kaiden belts out in a disgusted voice, "Dad spent so much money on fishing lures that it seriously made me sick!". As I was giving Mike the eye, mike was giving Kaiden the eye. It was actually pretty hilarious!
Anyways, Mike took Kaiden out fishing last night and Kaiden came home pretty excited that he caught the most fish! Mike said they had a great time and it was great that Kaiden did so well. I only feel sorry for the poor girl that Kaiden ends up dating some day... As I think he is hooked on both hunting and fishing and history is sure to repeat it's self!

I CAN TOTALLY relate to the whole tournament thing. Ugh..
Make sure that Caden marries a girl with a dad that is an avid hunter/fisherman...that way she'll be use to his habits!
My grandma always told me..."Never marry a farmer, their gone all the time." Gosh...she whould have told me, "Never marry a hunter/fisherman...the season NEVER ends.." HA! Just kidding!!
I love my Corey!
benefit #85 of a large family:
-husband knows hobbies are for men with less kids:-)
look at it as an excuse to do some online shopping.
That is so funny! Dad spent so much money he made me sick.
That is fun that they have a father/son hobbie that they can enjoy doing together.
My hubby doesn't farm, hunt or fish, but he teaches at the college. I can so relate about him being gone -- a lot.
By the way, I do exactly what Heidi advised: online shopping. :-)
My husband is into football and golf...football season is crazy around here. Sunday is 12p to 11p FOOTBALL!!!! And of course, Monday night football. I like watching NFL, but not all day.
That's nice your son and husband can enjoy something together. That's hilarious "Dad spent so much money on fishing lures that it seriously made me sick!"
hi! thanks for stopping by my blog.... my husband is a hunter/ fisherman, too, and already has taken our 2 year old out 'fishing' many times. it's quite cute. i know he can't wait till our boy is old enough to get it a bit more, but at this point he loves playing with the live bait most!!
