Montana!

I know it has been a while since I have posted and I apologize for that. Last week the kids and I, along with my parents headed to Montana to meet up with my brother and his wife, and some family from Australia and Canada! We stayed the first 2 nights at my brothers house in Hysham. The kids went out with Stacey and Tif to watch them work with their horses, and Karsyn. Mom, and I went to one of Tif's Basketball practice. She is the varsity basketball coach. It was a lot of fun to see her in her element!

We then went into Billings on Tuesday morning to meet Richard, Dyan, Drew, and Bristow at the airport. They were coming in from a week in Hawaii! After getting them all geared up in winter attire, we headed to the Billings house where my Uncle and his girlfriend met up with us. We stayed in Billings until Thursday morning and it was great! We all hung out played games and had a wonderful time! Thursday morning we headed to Red Lodge Montana which was a little over a hour away where we went skiing. Bristow, Kaiden and Karsyn had never gone before, and Drew was about 7 the last time she went. They had lessons scheduled to start at 10. Kaiden & Bristow decided to try their luck at snowboarding and everyone else was on ski's.

Karsyn picked up skiing very fast. She kind of surprised me how good and fearless she was. Kaiden struggled in the morning but by the end of his afternoon lesson, he too looked like a pro!!!! The next morning Stace and Tif joined us in Red Lodge for our 2nd day of skiing, Tif was working on picking up the art of snowboarding and it was so awesome to be able to ski with my kids. It was one of the best days I can remember in a long time!

By noon the kids were going up all 3 chairs and and had gotten it down so well, it really was amazing!!!!

We starting heading West Saturday afternoon so we could take in Tiffany's basketball game which was at 5:30 It was a great game in which the Hysham Pirates won!!! We came back to their house and had our Christmas gift exchange, had some munchies and hit the hay!

Then we headed for home Sunday morning, it was a long trip as we had some icy conditions but managed to make it home safely around 10pm.

Shanley-
That sounds like such a great get-away! Did you ski too? We desperately want to get the kids started early so that they don't have to struggle as an adult like I did!!

Yes I have been skiing since
I was about Karsyn's age! I guess it is easier when they are younger. I couldn't believe how well they picked it up! it is definitely a life high I will never forget!!!

How fun! It looks like you had a great time. I also love the picture of Karsyn in her shades, how cute is that?!?!

The photos, although wonderful, are making me feel colder than I already feel :-) I'm glad you made it back safely and that you had fun.
