Well Madison Elementary School was scheduled to start off the school year on Aug. 28th. The kids were both excited to be able to start the off the year in a brand new school! There was a lot left up in the air about when teachers would be able to move into their classrooms and for everything to be situated before the first day of school. Teachers weren't scheduled to be in their classrooms until a week before school started and we wouldn't know what classes the kids where in or be allowed in the school until the first day. With Karsyn starting kindergarten this year I was a little concerned about her starting a year in utter kaios under the above circumstances. As the highly anticipated day grew closer, driving by the new school, suspicions of the school not being done in time started to grow, along with a lot of conversations on what would happen if it wasn't. Finally it was decided that school would be delayed until Sept. 5th. Karsyn was very disappointed and Kaiden was so excited that they had an additional week and a half before heading off to school. Now everyday I have 2 kids asking how many more days until school starts! For me I am glad, I am hoping that with that extra time, the teachers will have had some time to get situated and feel comfortable in their new setting and there will be less tension in the air for the kids, teachers, and parents. We also had classroom assignments posted yesterday so the kids know who their teachers and classmates will be!
Everything seems to be working out, as they always do!!!
